The Third Edition of the International Poetry Festival POETEKA is essentially guided by the same goals of the formers. However, it will be different from them in what concerning the artistic scheme. This year, apart the promotion of poetry, the Festival will offer a new space to the music and film.
The Festival will last 7 days. Besides the traditional elements, such as authorial recitals, performances by professional actors, theatre and poetry, poetical memorials, papers on art of writing and on the problems of literary critic, the structure of the third edition is thought to have even these new elements:

A new poetical dimension in the Third Edition of POETEKA is Poem-sms, which we wish to realize in collaboration with AMC – Albanian Mobile Communication.
This activity will bring closer to the Festival the most attractive verses of the participants, so that we might give an example of how poetry and technology can co-exist. In this way, we aim even to increase the attention towards a genre browbeaten by the risk of being prejudged.

Film: The portraits of the most representative figures of both Albanian and Foreign Poetry will be displayed through filmic images. 10 films of short length has been thought to be displayed, introducing to the audience the essential core of a poet’s thematic (portray – the day of a poet) and creativity (motives and themes from the creative art of an author – poetry and panorama, or the sea pattern in the creativity of an author). The artistic profile of 10 authors (5 Albanian poets and 5 Foreign ones) has been selected, on base of which will be produced the films. They will be displayed as premiere inside the POETEKA program, and then, according to the agreement we have stipulated, they will be transmitted by Alsat TV. Moderators of films are same the authors or operators of the work.

Music: The same manner of working process will be followed even with the music. The creation of 10 composers has been selected. Their works, elaborated in the light of thematic spirit, will be in a song, romance or ballade format. Above and beyond the artistic feelings we get from the co-existence of these arts, we are going to enterprise insistently a susceptibility action concerning some very acute problems the Albanian music is facing today: the use of the vulgar texts for song, offering by our side a model how an excellent text can be easily transformed in an attractive song.

Poetic translation (readings, conversation, debates)
A valuable aspect of the festival will be the meeting between deferent translators of Albanian poetry, who lived in Europe. They will communicate their experiences in order to transmit this art to the public outside of Albania. There will also be a discourse about one of the problems of today Albanian literature – the availability of models, which today have been turned into schools, not only the traditional translations schools offers, but also the works of new translators.

EUROTEKA: In the program of POETEKA Festival, a very particular place will be given to the European poetry. This activity, as EUROTEKA, will take place in a particular day, which coincides with the European Day of Culture. Its main features will be as follows:
1. A meeting/lecture of a group of poets with students of Literature and Foreign Language faculties of Tirana. This meeting will take place in the magnum auditorium of Faculty of Philology of Tirana University (in collaboration with the dean of the Faculty).
2. A poetical performance at the summer theatre of Academy of Arts (in collaboration with students of drama).
3. Photographic exhibition of the cultural European centers under the auspices of UNESCO.
Another meeting noteworthy of our attention is that with the translators of Albanian poetry who actually live in Europe. They are going to transmit their experience and their efforts to attract the interest of this art, so that it may overcome the difficulties and the blockage of communication with the foreign audience. For that reason, inside the Festival is going to be held an auditorium with young authors and translators.

Poeteka festival will be organized in Durrës because of its cultural, historic, natural, and touristic properties of this city. The city of Durrës has been part of two very important ancient European civilizations: Hellenic and Roman cultures. Positioned in the crossroads between these two great centers, Durrës offers the necessary cultural and historic background, because it’s a city which is well known since antiquity.
Durrës offers many attractions and this festivals will go a long way in promoting theme to the outside world. The same can be said about the others cities were Poeteka will migrate, like Berat, Shkodra and Pogradec, cities with distinguished characters.
